Last weekend, Team 5012 Gryffingear packed up their bot and headed to the extraterrestrial land of Houston, Texas. There they attended the 2019 FIRST World Championship and competed in the Turing division.
When they got there, their first goal was to make modifications to their robot Sirius in order to be prepared for the qualification matches the next day. When that day came, they played in ten qualification matches and placed 23 out of 66.

As their last day came, the team prepared themselves for the matches to come. Soon after, Alliance selection began. There, Team 5012 Gryffingear was invited to join Alliance seed 3 by 2930 Sonic Squirrels along with two other teams.
Their Alliance ended up making it to quarter final match 2.
Although they didn’t make it to the finals, the team knows that, “this was a very successful Champs and season,” as put by their communications lead, Giselle Baez.
This season may be over but, Team 5012 Gryffingear isn’t done just yet. They are in the process of preparing for their offseason and are looking forward to the next season, Infinite Recharge.
