Why Do Clubs Die ?

- The Palmdale Aerospace Academy has a lot of clubs that range from noticed to unnoticed. Unfortunately, the clubs that go unnoticed tend to die out. There are many factors that go into consideration when creating a club, and it seems unfair to them when the club falls apart.

Now, the main question comes to play, why do clubs die? Well, for starters some clubs just do not work out. Not because they are bad, mainly because it is something extracurricular or it is all in the timing factor.

Another factor that would be involved is participation, a club without enough people will die out eventually. After all, a club is something extracurricular. Therefore, it isn’t mandatory to be in one.

Timing is key, if the club meets a day/time that many people are busy, it will not work out. Also, if there is another club that takes place the same time as a different club there might be a chance that one of them will downfall. Not because it isn’t interesting, but because it perhaps catches other people’s attention a bit more.

When it comes to being something extracurricular, everyone tends to handle it differently. Due to a club being either before, during or after school it may be difficult to handle time properly. Also, sometimes other things that are more important may take up the time that someone use to have to go to a club. Thus, they’d have to leave the club and if most of the people from that specific club do that, there will end up being no club.

Sometimes, the club will wither away because the meeting time will have to change because one, the teacher may not be available those days anymore because of something important or because the students are not able to go anymore.

The main factor in clubs is participation. A club can only begin if there is enough people interested in going to the meetings and being involved within the club. If that does not happen, it would not work well at the end.

If you do have spare time and is willing to commit, join a club. It is something fun, where you meet new people and interact more and looks well when planning ahead (colleges & universities ).
