Fly Away with AERO Club

There is a wide assortment of clubs here at TPAA. One of which is AERO/ACE club. A club that Mrs. Rodriguez says “focuses on people who want to pursue an aviation career.”

The club was popular last year but has had a decline in members this year. At the moment they “need major recruitment. Right now it’s just middle school and we need more high school.”

The club offers a lot of benefits to its members. They often have “go on field trips to air control towers, airports, and have flight simulators students can explore.” All to learn more about space and flight operations.

It’s current members say that AERO/ACE club provides a sense off family. Kathleen Crimie, one of the seventh grade members, adds that “this makes it easier for all of us to do all sorts of activities and learn about anything related to airplanes and aerodynamics.”

Mrs. Rodriguez also adds that the club can “help if you have an interest in aviation and want to explore different paths.”

“It’s a very niche career path that you don’t typically get to hear about in mainstream classes. This is an opportunity to learn more. It’s unique and students can learn if it’s for them and if they really do want to pursue it.”

So if you’re interested consider showing up to the next meeting. They meet every Wednesday after school in H-313.
