Swimming goes back to Ancient Egypt and the Greeks and Romans. Ancient Egyptians swam in the Nile River for pleasure. However, the Greeks and the Romans used swimming to train their soldiers. Eventually, the world’s first swimming organization was founded in London in the year 1837. Swimming for the Olympics, though, was a team comprised only of men. Women’s events were introduced at the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, Sweden and they only held two events, the 100 Meter Freestyle and the 400 Meter Freestyle Relay. Now, let’s talk about the uniforms.
The uniforms must be identical in color and pattern as your teammates. The suit, itself, shall be one piece of clothing. Boys must wear a uniform covering their buttocks and girls must wear a uniform covering their buttocks and their breasts. Both are able to wear bald swimming caps. The caps can have their name, number, school, or mascot on it. Also, another choice of attire is wearing swimming goggles. They are used for the swimmer to put their face underwater at parts at a time without developing sore eyes from the chlorine.
