When you see Coach Steve around campus, you notice that he’s a very hard-working and driven man who likes to get the job done. What you may not know is how hard he has had to work to get as fit as he is today.
Coach Steve is an amazing example of the “effort in=effort out” spectrum. His fitness journey begun when he saw a picture of him that he simply didn’t like. With the help from his brother-in-law and other family members, he started taking what he ate into consideration. He started building endurance by using his gym’s Stairmaster and running about 2 miles.
“Endurance was definitely a struggle. But listen, I ALWAYS wanted to get better at it.”
With consistency in his eating habits as well as his fitness, he finally started seeing results: dropping over 110lbs since the beginning of his journey.
In order to keep his physique in shape and continue making progress, he now doesn’t eat: pork, shellfish, and dairy. He also keeps his carbohydrate intake relatively low. He sometimes struggles to find time for the gym due to life getting the way of scheduling but always seems to get the job done. He also stated that he loves going to the gym with his wife because they can both conquer a workout at the same time.
What’s truly inspiring is that he did this for him. Not for the likes on Instagram or Facebook. He did this merely for HIMSELF so he can have a better quality of life. At the beginning of March, Coach Steve even participated in the Spartan Race, bring home medals in the process. He has ultimately made this a LIFESTYLE, not a temporary adjustment. Without a doubt, it’s simple to say that he’s a true inspiration to everyone on their own fitness journey, and has had his hard work pay off.
