Are We Outgrowing TPAA?

Moving to the new campus was a big adjustment on a lot of the students who attended TPAA for a few years. Now that it has been a couple years, we have adjusted but we have also grown as a student body, which makes it a bit more difficult to move around the campus.
Although the new campus that we are currently located at is visually beautiful, it is a bit small for how many students attend here. With every school year we say goodbye to a class and one would think that with the departure of these students the school would feel bigger because there is one less class. This however is not the case because every year classes seem to get bigger and bigger.
When talking to my fellow senior Lindsay Onofre, she mentioned how it can be difficult getting around school without bumping into another student.
“A lot of people run into me in between classes. It’s hard to walk around when I’m maneuvering between kids who run without looking to where they are going or when they expect everyone to move out of their way”
The halls of the school are not small by any means, however, when all the students come out of class at once or in the morning when they’re all grouped together, the campus can feel crowded. Not only does the campus feel small at times, but the parking lot can be a hassle as well.
In the mornings the parking lot is filled with long lines of cars just trying to get into the school. This situations leads up to students and staff running late or having different issues.
When talking about the parking lot situation with Mrs. Todd she brought up how her finding a parking spot can be inconsistent because how little spots there are to park in comparison to how many people drive to school.
“I find it difficult to find a spot because there’s always a long line of cars to enter the parking lot or the roundabout. After getting into the area sometimes I find a spot and sometimes I don’t.”
The parking lot has been such as issue that even our career day had to be canceled because there was lack of parking for the people who were attending.
With this said, I’m aware of the amount of work the school has put into our new campus and we all appreciate it, but hopefully there can be a solution soon for these problems our school has faced.
